Author's Metric Focus: The VSCI Framework

The VSCI (Vulnerability & Sovereign Supply Chain Index) is an original author-developed metric for assessing supply-chain resilience and technological sovereignty within the Techno-Westphalia framework. It quantifies external dependencies across manufacturing, digital environments, and logistical corridors.

The Tech-Realism Paradigm

Infrastructure Core: Semiconductors, AI compute, and energy tech are the new equivalents of nuclear arsenals.
The Citadel Economy: States are restructuring into technological and economic "fortresses" to minimize external strategic vulnerabilities.

Framework I: Sovereign Technology Assessment (STA)

The STA is a quantitative framework designed to measure a nation-state's real capacity for technological autonomy under maximum external pressure.

1. VSCI Matrix Integration

The core methodology calculates total vulnerability (Vtotal) through three dimensions:

  • Sovereign Supply Layer: Lithography capabilities and rare-earth element procurement.
  • Digital Environment Layer: Data center density and sovereign AI compute frameworks.
  • Logistical Corridor Layer: Redundancy of submarine cables and maritime trade security.

By aggregating these weights, the VSCI model identifies structural "choke points" where external coercion can destabilize a nation's core systems. This tripartite framework transforms abstract geopolitical risk into measurable indices, establishing a clear baseline for technological resilience in a fragmented world.
